What is a Doula?

A doula a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to their client before, during and shortly after childbirth to help them achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible. - DONA

Doulas help navigate through the waters of our medical system. They help you understand all the pros and cons of your birthing options and support you and your partner in making informed choices. 

Birth Doula Support Package

Birth Doula Support Package includes:

​

  • Complimentary Consultation (30 - 45 minutes) - An obligation free way of asking questions and ensuring Stephanie Buck is the best fit for you and your family

  • Tailored birth plan for your personal use in preparing for birth and postpartum.

  • One Birth Planning Visit (approximately 2 hours each) in your home to address questions, talk through concerns, discuss birth preferences to create your ideal birth, newborn, and postpartum plan, and best of all get to know each other!

  • Comfort Measures workshop (approximately 2 hours) to discuss comfort measures, positions, and other ways to decrease labor times.

  • Unlimited phone, text, email communication during pregnancy and up to 6 weeks postpartum.

  • 24/7 On-call support from 38 weeks until baby arrives - Stephanie is on-call from the date of hire, however, at 38 weeks travel and personal plans will be closer to home and she will be prepared to leave at a moments notice.

  • ​Back up Doula Support arranged for added reassurance.

  • Continuous Birth Support for both you and your partner including reliable communication during early labor.

  • Documentary style photographs from the perspective of your doula - meant to assist you in remembering and documenting your birth story. *notes taken if time allows

  • Immediate Postpartum Support (up to 2 hours) to offer breastfeeding guidance and ensure you and your family are tucked in AND FED!

  • One Postpartum Visit (approximately 2 hours) to openly discuss your birth experience, address questions or concerns you may have, and offer newborn support (feeding, etc.).

Birth Assistant Package

Are you looking for a birth assistant to support you at Birthcare.org in Alexandria?

​

Whether a home birth or a birth center birth, I would love to be a part of your birth team!!

​

Service area: I live in Southern Maryland and prefer to serve clients within the Alexandria and Southern Maryland area. I am open to clients in other areas on a case-by-case basis, so please ask if you would like to work with me.

$900 for home births
$950 for birth center
$50 discount for veterans or those currently serving.
