My Story

Hi there, I’m Stephanie and I’m a Holistic Nutritionist and Birth Doula with a passion for helping women restore hormonal balance and have informed births. I was born at the Naval Hospital in Bethesda to my Filipino mother and Scottish-American father.

After losing our Oliver at 29 weeks in 2015, I left the defense industry. I went back to school for a Master’s of Science in Holistic Nutrition with a focus on prenatal and postpartum nutrition. Wanting to support families at births, I also began working as a birth doula. I have supported beautiful births in hospital, birth center and home birth settings.

My approach to maternal care is from an integrative and functional perspective. This approach is firmly entrenched in the belief that the body has the capacity to heal itself if given the right tools. I specialize in working with clients throughout the whole birth cycle, from fertility to pregnancy to postpartum.

Outside my birth life I am a mother of three boys and a beekeeper. I love seeing human babies and bee babies! I am NRP and CPR certified and have been trained in breastfeeding support, Spinning Babies, and newborn care.

Service area: I live in Southern Maryland and prefer to serve clients within the Alexandria and Southern Maryland area. I am open to clients in other areas on a case-by-case basis, so please ask if you would like to work with me.
